Stable lapping surface for controlled finishing and edge refinement.
Material
Hetinax is a layered pressed material with a paper base soaked in phenol-formaldehyde resin (Bakelite), widely used as an organic bond for abrasive tools.
Structure
It is tough enough to resist wear and deformation, yet soft enough to hold abrasive grains and reduce excessive pressure during sharpening.
Performance
Ideal for finishing from 14 microns down to 0.1 microns, allowing abrasive grains to embed without damaging the treated surface.
Use
To work with hetinax on blanks, you can use diamond and CBN pastes (for instance, Poltava or Venevsky factory pastes). We suggest using Gunny Juice with hetinax on the blanks, as it is an ideal foundation for polycrystalline emulsions.
Hetinax on an aluminum blank is completed and ready for use.
