HR Series
Shapton GlassStone HR Series is made for hard steels, stainless steels, and high-alloy steels.
The uniform WA White Aluminum Oxide abrasive has particle size deviation no more than 0.01 micron, supporting precise and consistent sharpening.

Progression
The HR Series is available in 120, 220, 320, 500, 1000, 2000, 3000, 4000, 6000, 8000, and 10000 grit. This range covers coarse repair, main sharpening, refinement, and high-polish finishing stages.
HR High Resistance stones are intended for hard steels, stainless steels, and high-alloy steels.
HC High Carbon stones are intended for traditional carbon steels, Japanese tools, and straight razors.
Usage recommendations
Use Shapton GlassStone HR with water only. Do not soak the stone before sharpening. Use a stone holder, as the glass base can slide on the surface.
For flattening, use Shapton Diamond Glass Lapping Plate for 500–30000 grit or DMT Dia-Flat for coarse grits.
