Narrow dual-side diamond stones for Hapstone guided knife sharpeners and freehand sharpening.
Abrasive
Diamond sharpening stones provide excellent performance when working with any type of knife steel, including high-hardness and powder steels.
Format
Ursa Series features a dual-side diamond plate mounted on a rigid aluminum base.
Profile
The narrow profile is useful for sharpening recurve blades, tight or hard-to-reach areas, and detail sharpening tasks.
Construction
Each side contains a 1 mm thick diamond-bearing layer with evenly distributed synthetic diamonds bonded with a resin binder.
Compared to coated diamond plates, bonded diamonds offer better tactile feedback, smoother sharpening feel, and significantly longer lifespan.
Included stones
Set
The set includes three dual-side stones: F80 + F150, F240 + F400, and F800 + F1200.
This progression covers the entire sharpening process from coarse work to finishing.
Grit system
The stones use the FEPA-F grit classification system. Coarser grits use the legacy binder, while finer grits utilize the improved OCB binder, which provides cleaner scratch patterns and smoother finishing.
How to use
Venev diamond stones are recommended to be used with water as a lubricant for the best sharpening feedback.
The diamond layer does not absorb water, so simply splash water onto the surface before use.
Lapping
If necessary, stones can be flattened using loose silicon carbide powder on a flat surface.
Using diamond lapping plates is not recommended.
