Premium shell cordovan strop for refined finishing and smooth edge polishing.
Material
Genuine Shell Cordovan is the art of tanning at its finest. More than just a color, it is a very specific leather, from a particular part of a horsehide.
Craft
The shells are tanned, stuffed, shaved, and polished in a process taking at least six months at Horween Leather Company in Chicago. They are slowly steeped in vegetable liquors, hot stuffed, dried on glass frames, then hand curried and shaved by skilled artisans.
Finish
Dyes are hand rubbed on for a deep aniline finish. Finally, the shells are hand glazed to achieve the rich, glossy look and feel prized by fine craftsmen. Cordovan strop is mounted on thick aluminum blank compatible with Hapstone knife sharpeners.
