    Shapton Pro Kuromaku Sharpening Stones

    High-end aluminum oxide sharpening stones with a magnesia binder, mounted on aluminum blanks for Hapstone knife sharpeners.

    Pre-lapped stones

    Shapton Pro stones are preliminarily lapped and do not require lapping after purchase.

    Application

    For different knife steels

    Shapton Pro series stones are universal and can be used to sharpen knives of any steel, including high carbon, vanadium, and chromium steel.

    All Shapton Pro stones are 6 mm thick and mounted on high-quality aluminum blanks.

    Extra coarse

    For quick steel removal, chipped edges, and pitted edges.

    Moss #220

    Very coarse

    For fast steel removal in stainless and powder metals.

    Blue-Black #320

    Coarse

    Cleaner scratch pattern before moving to #1000.

    Orange #1000

    Medium coarse

    A popular intermediate stone for moderate stock removal.

    Blue #1500

    A slightly finer intermediate stone that begins polishing.

    Lubricant

    Use with water

    Shapton Pro should be used with water as a lubricant. Just splash the stone or use a water spray.

    Care

    Do not soak

    Do not soak Shapton Pro stones in water for more than a few seconds. Never store stones in water and never dry near heat.
