Purpose
The Herold – Solingen Red Stropping Paste is an abrasive compound in a tube designed for honing and restoring the cutting edge on leather strops. It is used for edge refinement and preparing the blade for further polishing.
Abrasive level
The red compound has a medium abrasive level and is intended for restoring the sharpness of blades that have begun to lose their cutting performance. It helps remove micro-irregularities from the edge and gives it an almost mirror-like finish.
How to use
Apply a small amount of paste to the surface of a leather strop and spread it evenly across the leather.
Then hone the blade with light pressure. For best results, finish the process on clean leather after using the compound.
