The Herold Solingen Red / Black Solid Strop Paste set includes two solid polishing compounds designed for honing and polishing a knife’s cutting edge. These compounds help remove micro-burrs left after sharpening and bring the blade to maximum sharpness.
Sequence
The red compound is used for preliminary edge refinement, while the black compound provides finer processing and final polishing. Using both compounds sequentially helps achieve a clean and even edge after sharpening.
How to use
Apply the compound to a leather strop by rubbing the bar across the leather surface several times.
Then hone the blade with light pressure. For best results, use the compounds sequentially — first the red, then the black.
