Suehiro W8 8000 sharpening stones are used for finish sharpening knives on Hapstone knife sharpeners.
Abrasive
W8 8000 is the aluminum oxide counterpart of Suehiro G8 stone.
Preparation
W8 8000 is preliminarily lapped and does not require lapping after purchase.
Traditional Waterstone series
W8 8000 is part of the Suehiro traditional Waterstone series, which includes Kouga 3000, Rika 5000, Shiramine 6000, W8 8000 (Junpaku), and G8 8000 (Takeiro).
These stones are not available in a wide range of grits. The traditional series does not form an even progression, but offers a selection of premium stones for building a custom stone set.
Use and care
W8 8000 should be used with water as a lubricant. Do not soak W8 8000 stones in water.
Use a splash of water or a water spray during sharpening. Never store stones in water and never dry them near heat.
