Suehiro heritage
Suehiro is a Japanese company that has been producing sharpening stones for three generations.
Kenkichi Okumura, the founder of the company, began by selling stones from his own natural stone deposit, which gained high recognition throughout Japan.
This long experience with natural stones helped Suehiro successfully produce synthetic sharpening stones since 1964.

A fast cutting stone that forms slurry quickly and is good for reshaping dull or damaged blades.
#320
Removes high-carbon steel with a cleaner scratch pattern than #180 and works well before #600.
#600
A popular intermediate stone for moderate stock removal and preparation before polishing.
#1000
A medium grit stone that balances fast cutting with better shape holding than softer soaking stones.
#1500
A slightly finer intermediate stone that still removes metal reasonably fast while starting to polish the edge.
#3000
A finishing stone that forms a good working slurry and leaves a slightly toothy edge for culinary knives.
#6000
A dense polishing stone that can still remove some metal while primarily working as a finishing stage.
