Cerax is the middle range line of sharpening stones by Suehiro.

Cerax stones are made of aluminum oxide with a vitrified binder for stable sharpening performance.

Steel range

Universal sharpening

Cerax stones can be used to sharpen knives of any steel, including high carbon, vanadium, and chromium steels.

Use and care

Soak before sharpening

Cerax should be used with water as a lubricant. Soak Cerax in water for 5 minutes before use.

Never store stones in water and never dry them near heat.

Cerax stones are preliminarily lapped and do not require lapping after purchase.

Cerax and New Cerax

Premium stones for custom sets

Suehiro sells two series with the Cerax name: Cerax and New Cerax. Suehiro continues selling both series independently. Unlike New Cerax, the Cerax series does not form an even progression, but offers a selection of premium stones for building a custom stone set.
