Aluminum oxide sharpening stones for soft and medium steels up to 59 HRC on Hapstone knife sharpeners.
Abrasive
The stones are made of aluminum oxide and are designed for sharpening soft and medium steels.

Recommended for knives made of soft stainless steel and other steels up to 59 HRC.
Preparation
Hapstone Aluminum Oxide Stones are preliminarily lapped and do not require lapping after purchase.
Grits
Progression
The series is available in 120, 240, 600, 1000, and 2500 grit JIS. This range covers coarse sharpening, edge refinement, and finer finishing stages for compatible steels.
It is advisable to use aluminum oxide stones for knives made of soft stainless steel, including 1095, 1080, 1070, 1050, 420, 440A, 440B, 3Cr13, 8Cr13MoV, 8Cr14MoV, 9Cr14MoV, AUS-4, and AUS-6. Using aluminum oxide stones to sharpen hard steels is not recommended because of low performance.
Use
Hapstone Aluminum Oxide Stones are recommended to be used with water as lubricant.
Soak the stone for 1–2 minutes and splash water on the surface during sharpening to prevent drying.
