Narrow Boride stone set assembled from different series for sharpening knives made from soft steels to the hardest steels.
Progression
The set covers all main sharpening stages, from coarse grinding and edge shaping to final honing.
Series mix
Each grit is selected from a Boride series that fits its sharpening stage and recommended lubricant.
Narrow format
The narrow 12 mm width is convenient for detailed sharpening work and compact guided sharpening setups.
Grit range
Set includes
F150 Ruby — coarse grinding, fast metal removal, edge shaping. Works with water.
F220 CS-HD — preliminary edge alignment. Works with water.
F400 AS-9 — working sharpening and main bevel formation. Works with oil.
F600 T2 — preparing the edge for finishing. Works with oil.
F1200 PC — final honing of the edge. Works with oil.
Sharpening logic
This carefully selected grit progression provides a smooth transition from stone to stone and helps reduce time spent between sharpening stages.
The set combines aluminum oxide and silicon carbide abrasives to match different sharpening needs across the full process.
Use
• Stones can be used dry
• Recommended lubricants are preferable
• F150 and F220 work with water
• F400, F600, and F1200 work with oil
• Excessive pressure is not recommended
Care and maintenance
• Rinse under running water with soap
• Use a stiff brush or toothbrush
• Hapstone Dressing Stone can also be used
• Flatten with silicon carbide powder
Flattening
For flattening, use silicon carbide powder with grit size at least twice as coarse as the grit of the sharpening stone.
This helps restore the working surface and maintain consistent sharpening performance.
Natural production marks
Minor manufacturing imperfections may be present on the surface of the stones, such as saw marks or small chips along the edges and corners up to 1 mm. These do not affect performance.
