Purpose
During the sharpening process, stones wear unevenly, which leads to the appearance of depressions and unevenness. Using a flattening stone allows you to restore the perfectly flat surface of the whetstone, ensuring stable and predictable results when sharpening.
How it works
Flattening Stone has a coarse, flat abrasive surface that allows you to quickly remove excess material from protruding areas of the whetstone and renew its surface. It ensures the correct geometry of the working surface and keeps abrasives in optimal condition for precise hand sharpening.
How to use
Wet the whetstone and flattening stone with water.
Move the flattening stone across the surface of the whetstone in straight or circular motions.
Change the direction of movement periodically to remove material evenly. Continue until the surface is flat again.
When finished, rinse and dry both stones.
