Edge Pro Matrix Diamond stones are recommended for use with water as a lubricant. Since the stones do not absorb water, only a small amount is needed before sharpening.

Maintenance
For routine cleaning, the manufacturer recommends ethyl alcohol. For deeper cleaning or flattening, silicon carbide powder, glass, or a 240-grit cleaning nagura may be used.
