Medium-hard bonded aluminum oxide stone for rough sharpening on Hapstone Pro sharpeners.
Series
AM-K series stones are made of aluminum oxide and have an average hardness for controlled sharpening work.
Application
AM-K 220 grit is in great demand for rough sharpening of knives on Hapstone Pro sharpeners.
Boride range
Boride offers a wide range of stones with different performance values and different rates of wear.
Maintenance
Boride stones may have saw strokes on the working surface, lacquer residues, or small chips at corners and edges no larger than 1 mm.
These minor marks are eliminated during stone preparation. Additional lapping can be performed with loose silicon carbide powder or a diamond lapping plate.
Lubricants
Boride stones can be used with water, soapy water, Boride Bori-Lube, or a water solution of dipropylene glycol.
WD-40, refined olive oil, and oleic acid are options for experienced users only.
Preparation
When using water, soak the stone for 1–2 minutes. When using oil, apply 1–2 drops to the surface and spread evenly.
If the stone absorbs the honing oil, use a larger amount of oil.
