The soft bond allows the stone to work well on fairly hard steels while maintaining controlled finishing performance.
Steel range
The stone can be recommended for blades from soft stainless steel to hard high-alloy steels with high carbon content.
Application
The 900-F is primarily used for hand finishing operations and works especially well on P-20 mold steel with hardness ranging from 29 to 32 Rc.
For knife sharpening, the soft bond allows it to cope well with steels around 58–62 HRC.
Always use a lubricant with the stone.
